Donation Information:
All monies collected from registration to auction item payments are used to pay for the necessities and a generous amount is donated to the ranch owners' charity of choice. Because of your past generosity we've been able to buy the big tent, tables and chairs, and other necessary items from tablecloths to water buffalos to the trailer tires. The donations help keep the registration fees low. This ride is getting better every year and that's because of all of you and your participation helping make the Mesquite Trail Ride the best ride in Southern Arizona.
MTR brings you a ride book every year. They are handy to keep in your shirt pocket or back pocket. The ranch info, riders' names and info and schedule, rules and other bits of info are printed inside. They make a lovely souvenir and double as an email book of your new friends.
Before Dinner Social means different things to different folks. Some of us just like to sit around with a cold drink and socialize... others... well the sky is the limit. This particular photo depicts one of the games Jamie organized... yes you can imagine exactly what that means. Let's just say it was entertaining, and that's why we show up!
This lovely purple box is a must for trail rides. We have the rental connection, big thanks to Stamback Services for providing these important restrooms, but they go above and beyond by DONATING the handwashing stations and a complementary cleaning during th MTR ride yearly!
Please if you have a need for this service support this company!
We love our silent auction. We so appreciate all donations in past years and realize the items just keep getting better and better. This is a fun event because everyone contributes. You bring it we silent auction it. We are looking for high quality items that someone else would want for themselves and would be willing to contribute more than it's worth. And if more than one person wants it even better, which creates the fun bidding stuff. So please bring your good stuff!
From toilet paper to tires on trailers, your entry fees cover it all. We do our best to provide the little things and some of the big things to make your time with us the best possible experience. From clearing the campsite and grading when we can to eating utensils, table covers, water buffalo, gymkhana buckles, event supplies, and games. We are not here to make money, just here for a good time.
These chores take commitment and hard labor. Not for the faint of heart!
This is the tent, it's big, it's bulky and it's usually a very warm day. It takes a lot of muscle pounding tent stakes is no joke. If your very strong, used to working in the heat and not afraid of sore muscles this is the job for you. This is a carefully planned event so if you're interested please contact us for more information about when and if help is needed.
Everyday and sometimes twice a day depending on the weather, we fill the water buffalo and take water to all the campsite that need water for their horses. It's a fun job because you get to visit with every camp site and get to know all the folks. It's a little technical driving and pulling a trailer not to mention filling the water buffalo, starting the water pump and filling the buckets.
Daily chores that must be done to keep us all happy and safe!
This chore has been taken over by our camp cook! Wouldn't you all agree that coffee over the campfire is the tastiest especially when you're camping. Now if you want something special in that coffee you should probably bring it. We provide the basics, but if it's a Frappuccino latte double pump heavy whipping caramel cream you may be out of luck.
This chore starts when we put up the tables but then every evening after the party ends or early the next morning before the breakfast crowd arrives, we gather and straighten the chairs and wipe the tables.
We are so appreciative of those that have stepped up to help in this capacity the last couple of years. I would call you all by name but wouldn't want to miss anyone. Thank you We truly Appreciate YOU!
If you take pictures during the ride, please consider sharing them with us. We'd love to show off your photographs on our Website, Facebook or Instagram pages.
Or if you are a professional photographer who rides and has a horse and you have a desire to take professional photographs for the ride let us know, maybe we can work a deal.
*This is just a short list of the chores around camp. Please if you see something that needs attention bring it to our attention or if you're able to take care of it safely we won't turn down your assistance. Thank you to all who do this on a regular basis!
Want to help but would rather just get something for the riders? Drop us an email pronto!
